iSore

This was a flyer at my school as usual it was promoting an event at school. I find the illustration of the cat charming while the use of the "aged paper" background is somewhat excessive brining down the opacity may have been a a good solution.

However, that's not what made this flyer an eyesore rather it's the use of six fonts (typefaces) seven if you include the one for the show title. This excessive use of fonts is amateurish at best. Second, the leading (the space between the lines) is way off. It seems the person who how made this couldn't make up their mind about using a sansarif font or a sarif font.
In addition to that the lines of text seem to be aligned at random and have no real rhyme or reason.

This Bloomberg Businessweek was something I just happen to notice in the school library. it made it into my iSore(eyesore) article> I understand the premiss of the design which is that plug in cars are messy. You have a wire running covering the whole page which is an extremely distractive element. This wire could have been drawn and or illustrated in different ways that would be eye-catching and not be such an eyesore. It seems sloppy and uninspired and the lack of a sense of good esthetics is just simply nonexistent in this magazine cover.

Beauty & the beast

I have finally finished my video project titled Beauty and the beast.
A reflection on how women suffer from the false standard of beauty that industry has forced on them and on the public.

SUNDAY WORK FLOW

It was a busy day today I was working in the wood shop making a base for a trophy for my sculpture class. After finding a piece of wood I cut it, sanded it and finally I glued the trophy pieces to the base. I neglected to mention that a part of the trophy broke. Because of that I had to improvise. When that was done and over with I rushed to the art department's computer lab. I made it there 3 hours before closing. So, I was editing my video for tomorrow's video class. After an hour had passed the person working there comes over to tell me that they will be closing in 10 minutes because the other person is sick and will not be coming in. I was baffled the only thing I was able to say was "BUT THE LAB IS SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN TILL 7". I guess i was caught off guard. I manneged to get the video to a good pre-finalized stage but I need to work on it just a bit more. I think in the end there are things that are out of our control but we should always do what's in our power to achieve our goals.

What makes a good friend

Many of us define a good friend as someone you get along & have fun with. However, we don't realize that a good friend listens to our problems, get into disagreements with, tells you when you're being an A** hole but in the end you still get a long. A good friend helps grow into a better person and isn't afraid of hurting your feelings when you need a reality check.

Thank god for good friends

1-Breath in. 2-Breath out. 3-"Let it go"

I've been sulking for the past few months cause I have been going through so many emotions.
I have just begun to move past my mourning period. It took me a while but I've got there. I was about to break and stop playing the game. I played by the rules in the book thinking those were the only rules that applied. Now I know that there were unwritten rules that were unknown to many of us but know that "the CAT is out of the bag" I now know how to play its game. Let's see what happens to that CAT when it has to face off with a TIGER.
so. . . 1-Breath in.
2-Breath out.
3-"let go".
4-know ALL the rules of the game.

I back and better than before. You can try and keep this TIGER down but know this you will never break its spirit.

It's been a while

continued

It's no surprise that I felt betrayed by what happened. I keep remembering that day over and over again thinking if I should have done something different. I keep looking back to analyze the signs and I keep getting the same results. That I was played, manipulated but most importantly that there was nothing that I could do. They made their decision already about how will and who won't pass.

For a while I thought that I was just being bitter about the whole thing. It's funny when I tell myself I'm wrong GOD steps in by sending someone to make sure that I keep believing in myself and to let me know that I wasn't wrong or bitter. GOD acted through one of my friends when she called to tell me what she had over heard while she was handing a project in. She over heard the people in charge saying that they had picked the people they wanted before hand. That there were people that were left out that were more talented. That the ones they let in weren't "improving" like they thought they would ,that they gave these people the place of the more talented students that they left out.

Knowing this I feel angry and relieved at the same time. Anger because they deliberately hung me out to dry but relieved to know that I do have talent and that they dug themselves a deep hole and that there prejudices got the best of them. I hope that when the term ends the school will take the right action with these people cause they lied, broke so many school laws and regulations that it's isn't in the school's or the students' best interest to let them get away with what they did.
